I bought these for my father who was having some pain in his hands, but the material was so flimsy, they did not compress at all and rendered completely useless. My weight lifting gloves compressed more than these!! I would recommend buying these from a store so the use can actually try them on first.

I ordered these as a preventive measure and have been happy with them. With a history of arthritis in my family and a job that requires a lot of typing, I’m a good candidate for a lot of hand pain. Not wanting hand surgery in my future I purchased these to reduce the likelihood of carpel tunnel and slow the arthritis. The fit is a little looser around the wrist than I’d prefer, but otherwise they work well. They are comfortable, lightweight, and not restrictive of movement. The last is a major point since my therapist says that movement is the key to avoiding future problems. Keeping the tendons loose and flexible prevents the pain and stiffness.
The previous reviews seem to confuse ‘compression’ with support. Compression gloves aren’t supposed to constrict the blood flow, but enhance it. A support glove or brace will FEEL like it is compressing the hand, but that’s not what this glove is designed for. If you already have a lot of pain from carpel tunnel, arthritis or similar issues, look for a ‘support’ glove. If you’re trying to prevent future problems and keep flexibility, buy and use these for a week or two. You’ll be surprised how well they work.
